My Big Day

Well its finally arrived!  Jane says I am going home later today.  I have been home a couple of times and there was no one else there. Jane also says Mum and Dad are coming home too.  I hope that means we are all going to the same home?  I am having a lovely time chewing Penny's and Tikka's toys.  I hope I have lots of toys at home to chew.  Tikka lets me take all his toys even those he is playing with.  I have to wait for Penny to leave her toys before I can have them as she can be really grumpy if I try to take them while she is playing.  Penny is not as grumpy as she was though.  I think she likes me really, though I don't think she would admit it.  Tikka loves me and I love my Uncle Tikka.  I hope I will still get to play with him when I go home.

Here's the video Jane has finally completed!

Meeting Lexi

I met a new friend this afternoon.  Her name is Lexi and she is 2 weeks younger than me and smaller than me.  I don't understand why Penny who is older than Tikka is smaller than Tikka.

Lexi is a 12wk old Border Terrier like Buzz except she is very small.  Lexi has an older brother who is a Border Terrier.  His name is Sparky but I didn't meet him today.

Lexi and I played in her garden and she let me play with her toys even when she wanted them back really.

Jane is editing a video of us playing but she hasn't finished it yet.  I have told her what to include but she is very slow!

Things that are not dogs and more.....

I liked seeing my mum's picture.  She asks about me a lot so I know she hasn't forgotten me.

Well I have had a busy time again.  So busy that I couldn't persuade Jane to type my blog for me. She kept saying she was too tired.  I'm not tired though.

I like to help Jane empty the washing machine.  I can climb in and make sure it is really empty.  I found a sock and ran into the garden with in.  Jane wanted to put it up high so she gave me a bit of food for the sock.  I went back to have another look in the machine but it was really empty this time.

On Saturday I met Daisy who is a yellow labrador who isn't really yellow... more like a pale lemon really. Then I went for a walk with Max a 9mth old Springer Spaniel and of course Penny and Tikka came too.  We had good time.

In the afternoon I went to see some funny things at Jane's friend Anne's house. They were definitely not dogs! They made a funny clucking sound and were a big scary at first so I kept running away and hiding. After a while I realised they couldn't get me and I wanted to see if I could chase them but they were behind a fence. Jane called them chickens. I don't know what chickens are but they were not dogs.
Getting Braver
On Sunday morning we went to Pets At Home.  I met a lovely puppy who was a Shitzu and only 12wks old.  I also saw lots of things that were not dogs.  The 'Fish' in see through boxes were interesting as they moved a lot.  Although I licked their box I couldn't taste anything and Jane wiped my slobbery marks off the box and hurried on so I didn't get to try to play with them.  Then I saw some 'Rabbits' who were not dogs.  They were a bit scary at first but didn't chase me so I stopped feeling scared. Next I saw some 'Degus' who were also not dogs.  They were behind glass and moved very fast and although it kept making me jump back I soon couldn't resist trying to lick them.  But it tasted the same as the 'Fish'.

That little thing just in front of my nose is a 'Degus'

On Monday we went to Fosse Meadows and Jane decided I should have a go on the adventure play ground.  It was great fun!  The first thing was putting my front paws on a tall post.  I know how to do this because my training games have included putting both my front paws on a box, I don't know why?  The second thing was walking along a bumpy bridge that moved.  I got a bit of food for each step and the wobbles didn't bother me much.

Moving on to the next game

Penny made the next obstacle a bit harder as she kept doing it with me and making the bridge wobble a lot!  But I am clever and didn't mind it moving at all.

Later on I gave Jane a big surprise.  She was asking Tikka to jump into the car and I jumped straight up.  She was very shocked!  I can jump very high now.

In the evening we went to my house and there was still no one else there.  Jane and I sat on the sofa and she watched a film while I went to sleep.  If she slept when I do she wouldn't be too tired to type for me.

Although I have met lots of things that are not dogs my favourite dog is Tikka.  He lets me bite his bottom, chase his tail, play with his ears and sleep on his paws.

Fred Basset, Puppy School and Lorries

Well I have been far to busy to keep my blog up to date the past few days. I know what you think... can't be the puppy typing because the keyboard is not built for paws. Well its still me.  I just have to tell my Dad or Jane what I want to say.

On Wednesday two exciting things happened.  In the afternoon I got to play with Fred a Basset Hound who is 16wks old.  It was great fun even though we didn't run round a lot because Fred wanted to play lying down.  He got tired very quickly.

Jane tried to get me to go to sleep afterwards but I was too excited to sleep.  Then we went to my 2nd puppy school class at Witsend.  I was sooo tired I could hardly stay awake, even though it was quite fun. I got to play 'off lead' with Maggie a black labrador and a little Jack Russell whose name wasn't Jack but Alfie.  Names are a very strange thing.  I did some walking on the lead and recalls and sits, downs and stands.  All I really wanted though was to be cuddled and go to sleep.

Yesterday I had a quiet morning playing with Tikka and being groomed and playing what Jane calls 'training'.  I get lots of food for this so I like it.  In the afternoon I played with Betsy, who I met last Saturday.  I went to her home and we played in the garden.  Betsy is great, she showed me her digging hole and all the other fun things in the garden.  I got covered in dusty soil and Jane had to brush me when we got back to her home.  It was a small price to pay for such a good time.

Today we have been for a walk around Lutterworth.  We watched a HUGE lorry go past and it was a bit scary at first but after I had seen several more of them I realised they don't come on the pavement, so I was quite safe.  I got lots of strokes and a cuddle in a shop called Chemist.  But I didn't meet any one called Chemist.  I guess she was busy somewhere. Jane says we are going to Fosse Meadows later to meet another puppy to play with.  I am really looking forward to that.  I wonder what the puppy will be like?

City Adventures

I have had another really busy day. Jane took me to Leicester City centre this afternoon.

Proof I went to the City!

I walked on my harness and lead all the way to the Town Hall Square.  I got lots of food for walking beside Jane.  It was quite scary at times. Buses are very big and very very noisy and they smell bad... yuk. Buuut everytime one went past I got some food. Soon buses were good cause I got loads of food. I like food very much.

In the Town Hall Square there were pigeons.  I was a bit worried by them at first but they seemed quite interesting and people were feeding them.  I sat down watching, hoping they would feed me too.

I met lots of people who saw how cute I am and wanted to say hello which was fun.  I made lots of friends.  Sarah sat in a chair with wheels so I could sit on her lap while we had cuddles and kisses.  I like licking noses am sometimes nibbling them too. Here is a photo of me and Sarah:

We went to the market where everyone shouts alot.  Jane carried me because I was a bit scared by all the sounds.  We found a pet stall and I was very brave and went on the floor so I could look at all the lovely things.  Jane bought me a flannel Hippo.  I don't know what a Hippo is but it was good for chewing and it squeeks too.  I also got a hide chew which I chewed while Jane sat in the town having a rest.  I needed a rest too so Jane carried me back to the car and I carried on chewing even when buses came close.... buses mean food! I saw some more pigeons and wanted to jump down and chase them but Jane held me too tight. She can be a rotten spoil sport sometimes.

We went to my house but Mum, Dad and Buzz were not there. I miss them a bit.  Jane said they are thinking of me too.

We went to Bouskell Park again and I ran round after Tikka.  It's great fun running through tall grass as I can hide and pounce on him!

Jane groomed me after tea.  It was a bit tuggy round my bottom as I have had a poorly tum.  I got more food for letting her comb me.

Then we did some more 'sits', 'flats', and 'stands'.  I think I am getting the hang of this now and Jane keeps getting very excited which is great fun because she goes all silly and we have a good game.  She can be very silly!

It's been a long day full of new things to see, hear and feel. I think I am doing very well and hope my Mum and Dad will be proud of me when they come back to get me.  Jane says that wont be for lots more nights yet which makes me feel a bit sad but I dont have long to think about it as she keeps me very busy!

Tomorrow I go to my second class at puppy school.

Tikka's Tongue Game and New Friends

This morning Tikka, Penny and I went to play at Fosse Meadows again.  I met some new friends and some dogs who were a bit scary!

This afternoon we all went to Bouskell Park and I played trying to catch Tikka's tongue.  He hangs it out very low then runs around teasing me with it. As soon as I get close he pulls it back inside his mouth!  How he gets it all in I don't know as its verrrrrry long.

Jane recorded this game so you can see just how much he teases me!

I also met and played with lots of new dogs and some lovely children who tickled my tummy.  I like that a lot.

I was so tired when we got back that I had my tea and fell fast asleep.

I have done some more 'flat' training today.  I got very frustrated when Jane asked me to 'flat' several times when at Bouskell Park.  I told her how frustrated it was being asked to lie down when I wanted to run and sniff and chase and jump and all sorts of other exciting things.  She insisted, so I gave in and she gave me some food.

Its busy here at Jane's. I love to play with Tikka.  Jane makes me have a rest in my 'day bedroom' lots of times in the day.  She says I need to rest so I can enjoy the rest of the day. I don't see why I have to miss out on so much fun just to go to sleep when I can do that at night!

On Holiday

My mum and dad and brother Buzz have gone on holiday and so have I.  Only they all went somewhere else!  They said when I am older I can go too.  So I am on holiday at Jane's house with Tikka who lets me chase his tail and bite his bottom, and with Penny who is grumpy and wont let me play with her, I still steal her toys though so she is ok.

Me playing with Tikka

Yesterday I had a very busy day going to a place called Lutterworth where every shop had lots of people to say hello to and the traffic was noisy but not really scary.  Then we went for a walk in Lutterworth country park.  Its very small but Tikka managed to find some mud and looked lovely.  I wasn't allowed to have a mud bath.  I met a lovely springer puppy called Spice who was a week younger than me and a bit scared to begin with but I helped him and he started to play with me.  We had a great time.  I was very tired.

Today I went to Fosse Meadows and met a puppy called Betsy.  She is 17wks old and a cross between and Westie and Cairn.  She wasn't very cross though, in fact once she got going she was great fun!  I went down to the edge of the brook for a look at the water.  It was exciting and I barked a lot but Betsy wouldn't come too.

Me and Betsy

I am learning how to lie down when Jane says 'flat'.  I dont know why.  I can lie down perfectly well went I want to! But I humour her as she gives me lots of food when she does her training. More about this another day!

Cookie's Sandpit

Colin and Sue bought me a sandpit.  It's great! I'm going to empty out all the sand as quickly as possible.

It's Complicated.

I went to a party with some other puppies. Tilly was very small and Millie was very big, but Tilly was older than Millie.  It was a bit rough when we were allowed to play off our leads, especially with the big puppies.  Me and Tilly liked each other. There was also Eddie, who wasn't a boy, and Sapphire, who wasn't blue.

Yesterday I played with George, who is also a doodle (I'm a doodle, apparently).  He's really, really big but really nice.  He's also dark grey coloured.  I'm not any of those things (I am nice) but I'm still a doodle.

I do try to understand.
